Senior Prom... the moment everyone waits for in high school. You
go out looking for dress starting in January, plan out your hair and makeup
months ahead, and anticipate everyday for it to finally arrive. & then it's
gone... just like that. That one day you've waited for is gone in what feels
like an instant. Yup, that's basically how prom is. It's crazy how much time
(and money) we spend planning out our prom, but let me tell you, it's
definitely worth it. There's nothing that can replace the amazing memories of
dressing up and lining up for pictures with your group of friends. Looking back
at those photos is the best feeling, and it's definitely an event worth
remembering!

Personally, the main reason I was excited for prom was to dress up! Being a fashion/lifestyle blogger, that makes sense right? ;) Picking out the perfect dress for me was definitely not easy, but it was super fun! Back in February I posted a photo of me prom dress shopping and I can't believe it's already been 4 months! It's crazy to think that this was in the winter.
I'm glad I finally found this gorgeous plum pink dress by Sherri Hill! I came across it in December on instagram and immediately fell in love with it. I've wanted a Sherri Hill dress for the longest time, and I was super happy to find the perfect one for me. I've always wanted a super blingy and bedazzled prom dress, but it was actually quite hard to find one that was the style I was looking for and had cap sleeves. I found that Sherri had the best selections of the dresses I wanted (look at that stunning hot pink ball gown in the Instagram photo above!!) & I mean come on.. who doesn't love Sherri Hill?! She's definitely one of my favorite dress designers. If you follow me on my instagram and snapchat (@ ayasell), I posted a lot of my prom dress shopping journey. Many of the dresses I tried on were from Sherri Hill and totally fit what I was looking for!

I did my own makeup for prom! I put a shimmery champagne color on my lids to match with the nude bodice of the dress, a tan shadow as a transition color in the crease, and a plum-brown color in the outer crease for definition. All the shadows I used came from the Carli Bybel palette. I loved how well the colors matched with my dress, and I didn't have to bother going out to buy specific eye shadow colors. I finished the eye makeup by putting on some black winged eyeliner. I was debating between wearing a nude or pink lip, but I decided on wearing the pink lip at the end. I used Colourpop's lippie stix, and it also matched perfectly with my dress! Look at that- a whole prom makeup look with products I already had in my makeup collection (well, part of it is that I have a bunch of makeup products to begin with, hehe).
Doesn't it look like these earrings came with my dress?! They literally have the same light pink jewels!

Loved the bottom of this dress! It wasn't quite a ball gown, but it was extremely voluminous and flowy, giving off that perfect princess vibe that I love.
Can't get enough of the BEAUTIFUL jewels on the top of this dress. It's crazy to say, but they're even more stunning in person!!

I didn't spend too much time on my hair (mainly because I didn't have much time), so I basically just winged it tbh. I made sure my hair was second day curly hair, so all I had to so was curl some ends of my hair that weren't as curly. I put the lower section of my hair in a low bun and just pinned pieces of the top of my hair to the bun randomly. I think it created a nice, natural up-do that didn't look too done up!

I did my friend Hannah's makeup! How beautiful is that red on her?!
Also did a prom makeup trial on my friend Catherine
